Every single man, women, and child has the right to food that's nutritious and healthy. It can be difficult to make ends meet when living on a limited budget, and thousands of people in Summit County struggle to buy enough nutritious, healthy food for their families. Benefit amounts as well as public assistance in Ohio is offered by the state to qualified households depend on family size, their total income, and certain living expenses.

SNAP is one options to use to help individuals and families buy groceries that are healthy, affordable and nutritious. It will not take care of everything the household needs, but it pays for a decent percent of a typical families grocery bills. It can also be combined with the Akron SVDP food pantry too. This is where groceries, meals, or even free hygiene supplies are given from.

Food assistance will given the client an EBT card which the person can use to shop at a local supermarket. Families can also use it at some farmers markets. As long as the retailer accepts EBT, families can use it to buy fruits, bread, cereals, vegetables, canned or boxed groceries, meat, dairy products, and more.
