The low income, homeless, immigrants and struggling people can turn to the YMCA Community Resource Center of San Francisco County. Any payments are credited to the applicant’s utility bill and the person seeking help will not directly receive cash. Housing assistance is also offered by the YMCA Community Resource Center of San Francisco, including for rent in both San Mateo and San Fran. Case management services
The YMCA Community Center hosts lot of different assistance programs. Some include a free food giveaway from community donations that feeds low-income families a day. This can include different grocery products for qualified clients. There is also a summer lunch program for kids from the community. This YMCA Community Center supported program can help provide food to children as well as a summer number of families in the area, both in San Francisco and Coastal San Mateo County.
This center also has in place a partnership with Young Community Developers for job placement. The under and unemployed can use this service to help find a new or better job. There are also computers in a lab with free internet as well as wifi for all devices.
Transportation is also arranged. The YMCA Community Resource Centerhelps with free passes to the BART system bus tickets, gas cards and more. This is also focused around getting to a job itnerview, or maybe transport is arranged for a new job for a pre-defined number of days.
Another critical program is the free debt counseling sessions from the Consumer Credit Counseling Services of San Francisco. Everything from information on budgeting to debt reduction services are available as part of counseling.
Language translation services are offered for Spanish speakers. The YMCA staff at the center help immigrants (documented or not) with ESL classes so they can find a job and work. The Computer Resource Center is located at their main office. The YMCA center boasts high speed internet, free printing and staff can help community members sign up for other resources like SafeLink, affordable housing lotteries and other programs.
