Shelby and Talladega County free food pantries.

Food pantries across the area are focused on preventing hunger. There are agencies in both Talladega and Shelby County that operate these centers. The programs available include free boxes of groceries, applications to government aid such as vouchers from WIC or food stamps, and holiday meals. Some of the charities will also offer other support including clothing or small amounts of financial aid to families in a crisis.

The primary locations in the counties are below. The church based food banks are often open limited hours, and people should call in advance. On the other hand, some of the other larger non-profit organizations or government agencies may be open five days per week. Call a center to apply for food assistance, locate clothing for work, and other support. Or a location may offer referrals to programs as wide ranging as Thanksgiving or Christmas food baskets.
