Third party mediation in Washington state
The state of Washington has recently created a mediation program known as the Foreclosure Fairness Act of 2011. The program basically ensures that homeowners are provided both time and notice to meet with their bank or lender in an effort to find a solution to their housing crisis.
As part of this process, the homeowner will be sent a formal notice at the time of foreclosure. The notice will provide details on the process and who to contact to commence the mediation process.
