Other uses of the Family Services include prescription medication or gasoline vouchers, free food from the pantry, bus passes, or even referrals to car repair programs. All funds are limited and come with restrictions on usage and other criteria.

Free items are provided by the Tom Green County Salvation Army too. There is a food pantry for groceries as well as soup kitchen to feed the homeless, immigrants, and hungry. The Tom Green County center is client choice for clients, and locate places for free food in TX.

Seasonal help includes giveaways during the summer and fall period as well as holiday programs. There are free school supplies, backpacks, uniforms and other goods for students from grades K-12. The Salvation Army Angel Tree also provides free Christmas toys to kids of all ages, up to 17. Both of these depend on donations from the community, both individuals as well as corporations such as WalMart.
