Too many families in St. Lucie County are still under the threat of eviction, hunger, or having their utilities disconnected. St. Vincent de Paul may be able to help in these cases. There is also a high demand for everything from affordable health care to basic needs such as clothing. Financial assistance and free food

With the threat of homelessness or an interruption in utility services being a major crisis for struggling individuals, there may be very limited financial assistance. Any funds are intended to help pay a portion of rent or energy bills, and allow families to remain living in their homes.

The agency offers on-site services in areas where homeless members of the community congregate. The program offers intake, referrals, food, and other much needed services to unsheltered members of the community who may qualify for assistance.

The goal is to help clients attain a safer, more stable lifestyle with the ultimate goal of establishing a permanent home. As part of this, they can apply for first months or security deposit help and take classes so they can learn how to obtain independence in all areas of their lives.
