There are several food pantries that can help Oldham or Shelby County families in an emergency. Most of them rely on donations from the public or partners such as Feeding America. Many low income families, senior citizens, or those residents with a disability turn to these food banks for short term support. Not only may groceries be offered, but some sites offer case management, financial aid, or even free Thanksgiving or Christmas meals.
The programs available will vary. Some of the food pantries will only distribute boxes of groceries that are meant to satisfy short term needs.
