Housing assistance programs in Saratoga County include rent help as well security deposit assistance. Both of those can be used to stop evictions and/or rehouse or move struggling families. But there is other emergency financial assistance is the Saratoga region, including the following:

  • 1)Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV) can be used to help subsidize the rent on an apartment.

Other support can be offered too. The assistance can come from Social Services, charities, churches, or non-profits. There may even be short term loans provided for helping to pay for rent or related expenses. In addition, the financial aid for housing costs, or shelters/section 8, are combined with case management services to help the family (or individual) avoid a future eviction and to help them stay permanently housed.
