Food pantries in Saratoga County New York.

If you need to decide between buying food and paying other bills in Saratoga New York, then try contacting a local food pantry. The centers provide the low income a place to go for affordable, or possibly free, food items, groceries, canned goods, and perishable items.

With almost all non-profit and charity type organizations, the amount of assistance offered is very limited. Families may be limited to a certain number of food boxes per month, and most of the Saratoga pantries will not offer items on an ongoing, never ending basis. Seniors, lower income, and others who need additional, longer term food assistance can be referred to public aid like SNAP food stamps, WIC, or government commodity items.

Many food banks can also provide other social services and items, such as clothing, baby supplies, vouchers, and other support. Call a food bank or pantry near you for specifics and more information.
