Find rental assistance programs in Saginaw County.

Short term rent assistance is available to stop evictions and homelessness in Saginaw County. Low to moderate income families, that have a plan for self-sufficiency, can apply for grants or loans. Charities, churches, and government DHS may offer rental assistance as well as funds for security deposits, transitional housing programs, or even place individuals or families into homeless shelters.

In general, funds are limited. In addition, any agency that will help with some or all of the rent will have some or all of the following conditions.

-The applicant needs to be in a financial crisis and meet income guidelines.
-A plan for self-sufficiency – stability needs to be in place.
-Rent help may be combined with other government programs in Saginaw, such as LIHEAP for utility bills, section 8 HUD income subsidized apartments and more.
-Home or apartments usually need to be affordable or “fair market” rent.

The main point being that if/when any money is paid out to help with back or future rent payments, there are many other conditions in place. Applicants need to be ready to satisfy all other terms and conditions of any Saginaw County housing program.
