Programs from charities, churches or the government are available for families, single moms, disabled adults or seniors who are faced with an eviction. Rent payment help is combined with low-income apartments without a waiting list, section 8 vouchers, and free lawyers for tenants facing eviction. Priority will be given to tenants that are faced with an unexpected financial crisis that may result in imminent homeless. Additional immediate rental assistance is offered for seniors and the disabled also take priority Some of the non-profit agencies may be able to offer assistance to move into an apartment/home as well. This can include money to pay security deposits or first and last or last month’s rent, whichever is applicable

A number of qualifications need to be met by applicants in order to get a grant or loan to help with rent. The Pasco County organizations do have limited funding. Mid Florida Community Services
They have multiple offices. Pasco County families who meet income guidelines, including, but not limited to having an income at 125% of the federal government poverty level may qualify for rent payment help. There is other emergency financial assistance for bills too. The Mid Florida Community Services provides emergency assistance for expenses such as rent and electric bills, among other resources. Their programs are extensive and wide ranging.

St. Thomas Catholic Church

A number of emergency financial assistance programs and resources are offered. The charity can provide assistance or vouchers for housing, gasoline, electric, gas, rent or even one free night lodging in a motel. Coalition for the Homeless of Pasco County, Inc.

They help homeless people, including with rehousing, as well as low-income families with an eviction letter. Get grant money to move, case management, applications to emergency rental assistance, temporary housing and more. The agency partners with agencies and together they provide immediate funds. The non-profit also arranges for free transitional housing, gives vouchers to pay for a motel room in Pasco County and funds to pay the security deposits to the homeless or first months rent. SVDP - Society of St. Vincent

Residents who have served in the Armed forces, who meet income guidelines, and have supporting documentation, may be able to qualify for short-term, limited, temporary housing, free hotel vouchers and rent assistance. These, and other services, are offered to families, in accordance with SSVF regulations. State and/or federal funding sources pay for the housing programs.

Each year, the county gets federal government funds as part of homeless prevention and rapid rehousing programs as well as ESG grants. The federal government funding will make money available to help residents who may be at risk of becoming homeless, those facing eviction, and the financial help will be used to help them pay back-rent as well as utility bills.

  • People who are facing eviction, who have lost their homes, or who are homeless today may be eligible for assistance to help pay security deposits, utility connection costs and their rent for a period of time. The pro-bono law firm will provide free legal advice from attorneys. It is for families or the elderly that are facing eviction or homelessness. The free lawyers also help with evictions, housing discrimination and other challenges. The free legal aid can help with a number of housing concerns, including rent. There will be ESG grants as part of the federal funded Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program as well as section 8 vouchers. This can provide a number of housing resources, including funds for rent, security deposits, moving costs, and more. The goal is to help lower income people become self-sufficient, so they can also access credit counseling and similar self-sufficiency services.
