Pittsburgh mortgage assistance.

If you need help with your mortgage in Pittsburgh, there are several Allegheny County foreclosure prevention programs and resources that you can contact. Homeowners have toll free phone numbers and hotlines that they can call for information and advice, and there are also several non-profit HUD approved housing counseling agencies across the Pittsburgh area.

The non-profit mortgage and housing counseling agencies can offer borrowers a number of solutions, many of which are free or low cost. They will range from programs that were created by the state of Pennsylvania, federal government housing and mortgage programs, and mediation and counseling that can occur directly between your lender and the homeowner.

You will be able to meet with a housing counselor and will go over the terms of your home loan as well as your financial situation. It is recommended that you bring copies of all relevant mortgage information, statements, and paperwork that supports your financial condition. Look into one of the housing counseling agencies or programs below in Allegheny County Pennsylvania if you need help.

Mortgage Assistance Program - This service is provided in partnership with the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas as well as government organizations and local non-profit HUD agencies. The program can provide a 90-day stay of Sheriff Sale proceedings for Allegheny County homeowners who attend various financial counseling sessions, including foreclosure and budgeting. They also need to agree to enter into a conciliation process with their bank or lender. You will need to apply, and can work with a housing counselor at no cost to the homeowner. They will take the lead in facilitating a court-supervised conference with the lender. 1-866-298-8020.

Mortgage Foreclosure Hotline - The Pittsburgh and Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office created this program. It will provide borrowers with information regarding their specific case. Among other advice, get referrals and information on local relief organizations and HUD approved agencies. Please call 412-350-4704 for more information.
