Rental assistance in Outagamie County.

Rental assistance is available in Outagamie County as well as the City of Appleton. Most of the funding is for low-income families, senior citizens and disabled residents. The goal of the security deposit as well as rent programs is to offer a short-term financial bridge to tenants as they work on the underlying cause of their struggles.

The rent help is also generally an option as clients, including veterans, wait on federal government grants and/or state of Wisconsin assistance. While an application for those benefits is being processed, some tenants may receive emergency funding for back rent, utility or energy bill payments, security deposits or moving costs. So there are several different resources available in Outagamie County.

Appleton Housing Authority
925 W Northland Avenue
Appleton, WI 54914
(920) 739-6811
The two housing programs they administer include HUD-VASH and Section 8. They are subsidized rent assistance programs that assist homeless veterans, families in or near poverty, and seniors or the disabled. HUD grants are used to pay for rent from independent landlords or apartments, and section 8 is income based as well.
