Legal Aid Services of Oregon is a non-profit organization that was established with federal government funding. Attorneys from the organization provide free representation on civil cases, including housing, foreclosure, consumer credit, and more to low-income clients throughout that state if Oregon.
A staff of over 110, including over 55 lawyers, work for the agency, and they help over 8,000 individuals per year. Legal Aid Services of Oregon has been very successful at litigating a large number of difficult and important cases in an effective manner for its clients. They have experienced a high level of success, and the legal program priorities include foreclosure advice, work on domestic violence, access to public and government benefits, senior citizen cases, and other housing issues, such as landlord/tenant lawsuits and evictions.

Other Programs
If addition to the advice and representation mentioned above, attorneys from Legal Aid Services of Oregon run three other statewide programs. These include the Community Development Law Center, which will advise community development corporations on developing low income housing. Another program is the Farmworker Program, which serves migrant workers with representation in job matters, employment law and housing issues. Last, but not least, the Native American Program serves as council for both tribes and individual tribal members in Oregon.
