Oklahoma HUD approved foreclosure counseling agencies.
Oklahoma has several non-profit housing and foreclosure counseling agencies. The organizations are focused on preventing foreclosures in the state, and helping homeowners to get back on track with their mortgage payments. The agencies may also be able to refer individuals to credit repair and debt reduction programs and agencies.
The federal government certifies non-profits as HUD approved counselors. This means that they will offer either free or low cost advice and assistance to low income and others who need mortgage or foreclosure assistance. The counselor can help in the completion of such activities as loan modifications, help people apply for government programs, take part in mediation, and more.
It is always strongly recommended that families who are behind on a mortgage payment, or expect a future financial hardship, should contact a HUD agency in Oklahoma as soon as possible to begin the process of receiving help.
