Northeast Mississippi assistance programs.

Get help with bills, rent, medical expenses, free food, and financial assistance in Alcorn, Marshall, Prentiss, and Tishomingo Mississippi.

Free health care from community clinics

Antone Tannehill Good Samaritan Free Clinic - This community clinic serves patients who range in age from birth to 65 and who need access to low cost or primary health care. The clinic will help those people who are employed, have had a reduction in work hours, or who are temporarily unemployed, and it will focus on those who do not have or cannot afford health insurance or patients who do not receive VA or disability benefits from the government. CATCH Kids - This health care clinic focuses on children. It will make low cost or free, high quality and very comprehensive health and medical care accessible and available to children who range anywhere in age from birth to 18 years old. The clinic may be able to help those who have barriers or are not able to get otherwise needed medical care. The health care provided will focus on both prevention and wellness, as well as on treatment of chronic illnesses and acute conditions. Call 662-377-2194.

Emergency financial assistance

The Salvation Army (phone number 662-842-0301) may be able to provides necessities of life including free food, new or discounted clothing, shelter, rent assistance, funds for paying utilities or cooling bills, furniture, transportation, medical, health care needs and other emergency needs to the working poor and low income. In addition a free noon meal is furnished for the hungry Monday-Friday of each week. While the availability of resources is limited, the agency will do what it can to help seniors, children, and the less fortunate in Mississippi make it through a crisis. Continue.

 

 

 

 

Northeast Mississippi Community Service is located in Booneville Mississippi is the local community action agency for Alcorn, Marshall, Prentiss, and Tishomingo county. The non-profit agency offers the working poor numerous programs, information, and ways to become self-sufficient over the long term. The agency may be able to direct families and individuals to rent assistance programs (such as Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing), utility and cooling bill assistance programs (LIHEAP), free food pantries, and advise patients how to get free or low cost health care from community clinics in the region. Oftentimes a client of the agency will be put in touch with a counselor who can guide them through various programs and options in the area. Call the agency at (662) 728-2118. Or you can find other low income assistance programs that are provided to qualified individuals.

Emergency assistance is also offered from the Northeastern Salvation Army. They support families in Prentiss County Mississippi and other nearby towns and counties. They administer some of the same programs as the location referenced above, however other resources may be offered as well. Food assistance in Northeast Mississippi

F.A.I.T.H. Food Pantry (Food Available In This House) - This pantry also works with other distribution centers in the area. It both secures and distributes a regular source of free food or groceries to needy residents in the community, with emphasis on those families with individuals, children, or a family in crisis, and food is also available for the elderly under the USDA guidelines. Fulton Food Pantry - This distribution center supplies families with free food and groceries on the third Saturday of each month. Free food and other nutritional aid is also provided on an emergency or crisis basis to referrals from The Salvation Army, churches, DHS, and other local community service agencies and charities in the surrounding counties. Food Depot of Tishomingo County - This center may be able to provides low income Tishomingo residents that meet the programs required criteria with free groceries or food baskets once a month to feed both themselves and their families. Call 662-423-2694

 

 

 

 

Mission Okolona - The agency follows the example of Jesus to provide for the hungry and needy among us by distributing food to those in need. Phone 662-447-2736.

Helpful Samaritan Food Pantry - Residents of Tishomingo county Mississippi can get assistance from people during periods of a crisis or emergency economic crisis by providing groceries, free food and/or other household products and necessities on a limited term basis to meet hunger and other basic needs of the low income and working poor. Dial 662-423-6272.

Food Pantry West, phone # 662-282-4877, may be able to help people in Itawamba county and the surrounding area. The pantry may be able to both secure and distribute free food to low income and other needy residents who qualify under the federal government USDA guidelines and state of Mississippi residency guidelines, especially the elderly, disabled and families with children in the local community.

Other assistance programs

Junior Auxiliary of Tishomingo County - The non-profit organization renders charitable services that are beneficial to the general public with particular emphasis on children in the community and surrounding counties. The agency provides books, school supplies, coats, mentoring and holiday and Christmas gifts (through the Angel Tree). Counselors from the organization can also visit with the elderly and senior citizens once a month and provides games and lunch to them as well. Call 662-423-6583
