Free items for the low-income from Catholic Charity churches
Food Pantries are available to qualified residents. Any items are usually offered on a one-time-per-month per household basis, and the Catholic Charities can help refer families to these local centers that distribute meals, food, and groceries. Much of the aid is free.
Most of the pantries provide a three-day food supply, and it can be used by families for up to three meals. While the demand on the local food pantries continue to grow, the centers do their best to meet everyone’s need. Thanksgiving, Christmas and an Easter basket program is run by a number of Catholic Charity locations in New York City.
