Get free food from pantries, emergency rent or utility bill assistance, furniture, and other help. Churches, charities, and government assistance agencies below assist low income families in Navarro County. They may also provide grants to pay a security deposit, free school supplies to kids, debt reduction services, and even Christmas toys. Community Services provides a variety of aid to Navarro County Texas residents. In an effort to increase the support offered, Navarro County Electric Co-op has provided thousands of dollars as a contribution to  provide people with further help for paying for energy bills, food, prescription drugs and fuel.

While anyone can get financial aid, customers of the co-op will be first on the list for the grants and funds, and recipients of the money need to fill out an applications for the assistance. In some cases loans may be issued as well.

Churches in the county as well as city of Corsicana Texas help people of all backgrounds and religion. The regional churches may be able to offer assistance with limited funds and grants to pay rent and utilities as well as case management. The Care Center at the church may also have information and referrals for related services and referrals to charities and non-profits, pastoral counseling, assistance, education for State Assistance Service/ Programs SNAP, and help applying for TANF, etc.

Corsicana Salvation Army ((903)874-7131) - The low income can call or apply for a limited amount of emergency financial assistance with medication, free food, clothing, shelter, and utility bills. They also have free holiday programs (Christmas gifts from Angel tree, food boxes, meals, etc.), school supplies for kids, low cost furniture stores, and more. Food Pantry Ministry - You will need a letter of referral to this church in order to get help from the local churches, employers, charities or social service agency. If you get referred, a family/individual may receive food assistance or groceries up to three times. also hot meals, including at Easter and Thanksgiving, may be served. Family Services Association - Some of the assistance offered by this location includes used or new free clothing, school supplies, energy and utility bills grants. There may also be medical services, emergency help with housing, transportation needs, household items, as well as furniture for fire victims.

An on site food pantry can offer referrals. Also obtain assistance with providing for and obtaining pharmaceutical Companies and access to Drug Assistance Programs. For those families that live in Navarro County, Helping Hands provides information and referral to those residents. The center can help by offering suggestions and referrals to emergency financial assistance programs for buying groceries, paying for rent and utilities for TXU customers only. Also, case managers from the location can also refers clients to other available resources/services, including public aid and food stamps. Information on other programs may be available as well, such as coats, free school supplies, shoes and more for school age children. This is available by referral from the school district.

During the hot summer and winter, learn about local resources that can offer extreme weather relief, such as blankets in winter and fans in summer. Last, but not least, the charity may have referrals to local clothing closets, food pantries, and other charities that offer assistance in satisfying basic needs.
