There are several Catholic Charity centers around the Long Island region, including in Suffolk and Nassau County. The non-profit charity, church focused organization administers a number of programs and resources for the low income, seniors, as well as working poor. While short term financial aid and assistance can be provided, such as for housing, food dental and more, in general it is limited.

Catholic Charities will instead often focus on addressing the causes of poverty. This can include immigration, ESL, employment and stability. Services are offered for people of all backgrounds and religions.

There are a couple main components to the program. They include providing clients with a monthly food or meal package. The CSFP program offers individuals guidance and advice in preparing nutritious meals, referrals to health care and social service agencies, and information that comes right from nutritionists.

The program operates from two Catholic Charity sites in Long Island, and they are Freeport and Wyandanch.
