Transitional housing and homeless shelters Maricopa County and Phoenix.

Maricopa County residents who are facing imminent eviction or who are currently homeless have several shelter as well as transitional housing assistance programs available to them. Charities, government resources, and churches offer housing support to single moms, immigrants, people with substance abuse needs and others. Find an emergency homeless shelter or temporary housing near you in Maricopa County.

Many organizations are committed to helping homeless people or families. Long term support is offered too. The agencies also work to offer affordable housing units and /or homeless shelters to veterans, immigrants, the poor or the currently homeless.

Many of the centers have restrictions on who can use them or they may cater to a specific clientèle. For example, a short term housing program or free homeless shelter shelter may provide for families with children, single men, or the recently evicted. It is best to call in advance to learn about exact program terms. If one of the Maricopa County Arizona centers can't meet the need then they will refer homeless individuals to other resources, such as federal government or state or Arizona assistance.

Also work with a case manager to find a more permanent home or apartment after leaving a transitional unit. Some of the other more common solutions include the section 8 voucher program in Arizona. Social workers will also offer information on employment services in Phoenix and the county.
