Non-profits organizations, churches and charity agencies in Lehigh County operate free or low cost food banks as well as soup kitchens for local residents of the community. The mission of the various pantries near you is to obtain food and then distribute it to people in need of help in the region. In addition to that service, they provide information and referral services in regards to similar services across the greater Pennsylvania area. For example, get information on SNAP food stamps, clothing, the WIC program, and other aid. Find a toll free referral number at the bottom of this page for additional Lehigh County food programs.

Of course the locations below will offer groceries, meals, and food. However many also provide a number of other social services to the low income and qualified residents of the local community. This includes vouchers for emergency prescriptions, databases on other local food pantries, emergency clothing, job search and employment training. Many are also involved in running summer camps, after school programs, Thanksgiving or Christmas turkey dinners, and youth activities. You will need to call a local Lehigh County Pennsylvania food pantry for specifics and details on the exact programs and resources offered.

Partners with Second Harvest Food Bank of Lehigh Valley to run a food bank. This non-profit also provides referrals to other social services and government programs, such as summer meals for students, food stamps, and financial assistance like LIHEAP.

Low income and senior persons of the local Lehigh community can access a variety of services. Programs include food banks, senior transportation, rental assistance, and transitional shelters. Over 800 volunteers and over 100 churches partnered together for this program. They reach out to low income people in greatest need in the local community. Most of the focus is on feeding the hungry. Also, clothing for the low income, holiday meals, and financial aid is available in Lehigh County.
