Free Christmas assistance programs Lee County Florida.

Find charities and churches in Lee County FL that provide assistance during Christmas and holiday seasons. Low income families, including single moms and dads, can apply for free toys, clothing, and other gift giving programs as well as Thanksgiving or Christmas food boxes. The assistance available in the Fort Myers as well as Cape Coral region will also generally be offered along with a free, hot holiday meal.

There are many charities that give out free Christmas toys, presents or gifts including the Salvation Army of Lee County Adopt a Family or Angel Tree as well as the Toys for Tots service. The agencies try to help as many kids or struggling families as possible. Get free Christmas gifts for children to open, groceries or holiday meals (including at Thanksgiving) and more. Most of what is given out is donated, but there may be the following.

  • Toys, such as dolls, trucks, board or video games, Legos, matchbox cars, dolls, sporting goods and more.
  • Clothing, including boots, hats, and jeans.
  • Free Thanksgiving and Christmas meals or food baskets are passed out in Lee County.
  • Educational supplies, such as learning games, books, electronics, and more.
  • Specialty programs such as Angel Tree or Adopt a Family.

That is just a sample of the free holiday assistance available. Applications are accepted during the late fall months.

Donations to this holiday program, and what may be available to families, include unwrapped gifts, toys, games, and more. There are also free Thanksgiving turkey dinners and food baskets. The Salvation Army in Lee County accepts applications from low income households with a child age 13 or under. To apply for this Christmas assistance program (or to donate) dial the charity

  • Another Salvation Army Services is at 10291 Mcgregor Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33919. Call (239) 278-1551. Everything from Adopt a Family to school supplies, free small toys for kids, and Christmas meals for senior citizens as well as the homeless is arranged.

 

 

 

Lehigh Community Services

Appointments are needed. Everything from clothing at Christmas to furniture, school supplies, and financial aid is paid out by the non-profit. They also pass out emergency food boxes.

F.I.S.H. of SanCap

They only assists families in Sanibel and Captiva Florida. There are free holiday food baskets for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Children may be given small gifts, and parents can also enroll into social services.

Fort Myers Christian Outreach Center

The Heavenly Manna pantry may have holiday meals, such as Turkeys and the toppings at Thanksgiving, and they offer other support.

SVDP - Saint Vincent de Paul
The parishes and volunteers help the low income, poor, elderly and others. There are free groceries, including for holidays (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.). Some clothes, small Christmas toys, books, electronics, and more. The elderly can get help too with hot meals or frozen holiday food. More on SVDP Lee County.

Toys for Tots of Lee County
Many charities, businesses, and volunteers participate. They give out free Christmas toys, gifts, and presents to less fortunate kids. There may be computers, clothes, gift certificates, legos, games, dolls, toy trucks, video games and much more. Single parents can be given free gift cards for shopping at Christmas and other goods for their kids. Operation Santa from Children's Network of Southwest Florida

Existing clients of their programs may be given free gift certificates, clothing, and more based on what the child requests. A Christmas toy shop is open the holiday. Low cost gifts are sold to the public, with the possibility of some free items.

 

 

 

 

Catholic Charities

Various churches are part of the charity. They have free food or groceries, help for immigrants, holiday assistance (including at Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas), free birthday or Christmas toys and more.

Dr Piper Center for Social Services Inc.

In general, a one day per year Christmas “shopping spree” and party is held for a small number of qualified kids, teens, or infants from low-income families in Lee County. They can select the toys, games, and gifts they want.

Other Lee County holiday programs
There are other events, holiday gift give-aways, turkey dinners and more in the region. Some examples of free food, stuff, toy or present programs are below. Call 211 for the latest schedules.

  • 3H Exchange - Fort Myers families may be given Christmas assistance. The fire department and police also collect toys, games, and more through a donation service. There is also a focus on the homeless.
  • Cape Coral Fire Department - They only collect items. Individuals can drop off gift cards, unwrapped toys, hygiene items, and more. The sites include 4610 Coronado Parkway, 707 SW 1st St.; 4107 Pelican Blvd, 4610 Coronado Parkway, and about 10 other stations.
  • Lee Health Community Affairs Military Support Program is only for children of veteran or serving families. Free Christmas toys, clothes, bus passes, Thanksgiving dinners and more at at 4211 Metro Parkway, Fort Myers FL 33905
