Find how to get help with rent in Kootenai County and Coeur d’Alene. Locate charities, churches, and state of ID organizations that provide everything from housing vouchers to rental assistance, low-income subsidized apartments, legal advice and more. Applications can be submitted in person, online, or over the phone, depending on the agency. A major focus is on providing rent payment help, including emergency assistance, to single parents (mothers or fathers), seniors, or disabled people in Kootenai County. Either grants or loans to help with back rent payments are offered, or residents will be referred to low-income apartments, section 8 vouchers, or free lawyers for Coeur d’Alene area tenants.

In addition to the charities and government programs that help pay rent below, there are other housing programs. The volunteer based charity, and its partner churches, provide financial help, including for rent. There are also homeless shelters, free motel vouchers for places in Coeur d'Alene ID, transitional housing or apartments and utility help if needed too. All funds help people avoid eviction.

Heart of the City Church

Assistance, including for rent, is for tenants in of Post Falls, Rathdrum, and the county. Free grants will also help pay utility bills or water costs to a landlord. Salvation Army social services
