Kitsap, Jefferson and Clallam Catholic Charities assistance programs.

The main Catholic Charity center is located in Bremerton Washington. The location serves the needy, low income, and unemployed in Kitsap, Clallam and Jefferson Counties. People of all religions can look into programs for emergency financial assistance, meal, housing, job training, and other social services. They serve clients with respect, compassion, and dignity. All resources from Catholic Charities are also offered in a confidential manner to those who need help.

The main center is a one stop location for the community. Some direct aid may be offered. However Catholic Charities also works closely with other non-profit organizations, churches, and charities in Kitsap. They also have a team of professional staff and dedicated volunteers who assist elders, seniors, the disabled and adults. Children from low income families also will take priority when it comes to apply for financial aid.

Food and meals are distributed. Volunteers from the community, including local churches from Clallam and Kitsap, prepare the evening meal for the needy. The low income and homeless can get served hot meals in the Catholic Charity communal dining room. Special holiday meals, turkeys, and all the toppings will be available on a seasonal basis. The soup pantries and food pantries also serves as a multi-purpose room for trainings and other group activities.

Individualized Transition Plans and other Support Services were created to provide all struggling and lower income residents with service coordination as well as a seamless service delivery system. Staff from Catholic Charities, as well as Benedict House, use a team approach in providing guidance for its residents and qualified clients.

Transitional Housing is available in Kitsap. Catholic Charities can offer those who need help access to a clean and sober living location. All arrangements for housing are provided in an emotionally and physically safe environment. Get access to a dormitory for single men. Additional shelters and housing may be available for a homeless man with children. As part of the housing, clients can get sheets, towels and toiletries.

In addition to having a place to stay, individual who stay in the transitional unit will be able to work with a Catholic Charity staff member of self-sufficiency and permanent housing. Together you can locate a safe, affordable home to live in. The agency may also help you apply for security deposits or ongoing rent help.

 

 

 

 

Career counseling and computer usage are located at the Bremerton center. Job seekers can use, for free, computers for resume creation, job searches, e-mail, general searches and even to practice typing. The center will offer other employment assistance as well, including access to office supplies, printers, fax, copiers and a phone.

Classes and workshops are offered for a variety of needs. These so called Enrichment Classes will help reduce and eliminate any barriers that are holding individuals back from success. Workshops coordinated by Catholic Charities include Financial / Debt Reduction/ Budgeting / Credit Counseling, Tenant Responsibility, Resume Building, and others.
