Health centers and community clinics in Iowa can provide all individuals with access to medical and/or dental care. All state residents, regardless of their income, whether they have health insurance or not, may be able to get assistance. This is offered regardless of the patients race, age or religion. The clinics provide free or low cost medical care, or referrals, to those that need help.
While in general community clinics do focus on the low income, in actuality they serve anyone and will not turn people away. Some people may have to pay a small portion of the bill, and the exact amount is based on a sliding fee scale.
All Iowa clinics are non-profit, and offer numerous services, including check ups, prescriptions, oftentimes access to dental care, and other forms of aid. If your condition can’t be addressed, then they may provide referrals to medical specialists or hospitals in Iowa.
