Hunterdon County food pantries.

Individuals and families in need of free, or low cost groceries, can get help from a food bank. There are several charities, non-profits, and even government benefit programs in Hunterdon County that focus on fighting hunger. The food pantries often serve as a safety net for people in an emergency.

The Hunterdon County food banks as well as soup kitchens rely on donations. Their is fresh and canned food, cleaning supplies and more that comes from people at local churches, restaurants, or even stores like Wal-Mart. These items are then packaged and given to the general public.

For long term assistance in the region, referrals are provided to SNAP food stamps as well. This is the primary government benefit for families living in poverty, and an EBT card will be issued to help them pay for future nutritional needs.
