Free Christmas and holiday assistance Howard County Maryland.

Howard County Maryland has several charities that provide assistance during the holidays. There are free programs, ranging from Christmas gifts and toys for children from low income families to food, groceries, and both free hot Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. Other resources in the county, including the city of Columbia, range from parties to giveaways as well as frozen holiday meals delivered to senior citizens or the disabled.

The primary charities to apply at for help are noted below. They may not offer assistance each year, but rather any Christmas toys, books, clothes, and other items are first come and served based on donations. Most of the holiday support is for children from very low income families or those who live in poverty. However there may also be some emergency help in Howard County as well, but that is not common.

As noted, be sure to apply for Toys for Tots, Angel Tree, or any other Christmas gifts or toys early. As far as the meals, both at Thanksgiving or Christmas, the application period may be later.
