Homeownership Centers from JP Morgan Chase offer mortgage assistance.

JP Morgan Chase has opened dozens of Homeownership Centers across the country in an effort to provide struggling homeowners with mortgage assistance and to help them avoid a foreclosure. These centers offer face-to-face assistance between lenders and borrowers, and is intended to help those families who are behind on their mortgages.

As of early June, almost 80,000 people around the country have contacted one of the JP Morgan Chase Homeownership Centers. Since the start of 2007, JP Morgan has helped prevent 600,000 mortgage foreclosures nationally from all the assistance programs they offer, including these centers.

The centers employ several full-time mortgage loan counselors. They will assist any homeowners who are Chase, Washington Mutual and EMC Mortgage Co. borrowers. Some of the other benefits of the centers include :

Trained mortgage counselors. A large, knowledgeable team of homeownership advisors will assist homeowners whose circumstances have changed, that may be experiencing a short term financial emergency, or who are no longer able to make their scheduled monthly mortgage payment. The counselors will help those families avoid a foreclosure and stay in their home if that is the best option for them. The trained mortgage counselors will evaluate the homeowners finances, answer questions, and review possible workout options and loan modifications.

Scheduled appointments. In an effort to reduce wait time for customers, they are strongly encouraged to set up an appointment in advance with the Homeowner Center. The homeowner should also bring all documentation, including recent tax forms and W-2s, bank statements, recent pay stubs, and even such records as monthly expense documentation. In addition, they need to bring any information, such as a hardship letter, that will help explain their current financial emergency or situation to the appointment.

JP Morgan Chase has a successful record of lowering homeowners monthly payments. While there are dozens of centers across the nation, the location of some of the JP Morgan Homeownership centers include:
