Food banks in Hampden County.

Free or low cost food, meals, and groceries can be picked up at food pantries in Hampden County Massachusetts. A number of centers and organizations can assist residents of Springfield, Holyoke, and the greater Hampden County area. Find the primary food banks to call for help below.

Most of the services are offered at no cost. However some of the food pantries may charge a nominal fee or have other conditions that need to be met. The exact type of food and other aid distributed will vary by facility. For example, some locations in Hampden County will have perishable items, breads, vegetables, and more. Other locations may have emergency food boxes, or even items such as clothing, baby food, meals, as well as Christmas meals and Thanksgiving meals.

Long term support can be arranged as well. Case managers can partner with low income families to help them apply for state of Massachusetts benefits, such as SNAP food stamps. Or the food pantries have referrals to a number of other resources.

All of these locations help the working poor in Hampden County. They have a thrift store, food pantry, and may even have funding for bills or rent. In addition, holiday meals and toys may be offered as seasonal items.
