Catholic Charities in southwestern Ohio and Hamilton County.

Low-income families and parents in Southwestern Ohio, including Cincinnati and Hamilton County, can get help from Catholic Charities. A number of programs are offered, including free food boxes, housing and rental assistance, adult education and more. Get assistance from Catholic Charities in the Cincinnati OH area.

The social services help people gain or find employment. There are also programs for immigrants, single mothers and women facing abuse. The Catholic Charities centers of Hamilton County Ohio will help qualified people of all religions, backgrounds, and cultures.

Social from from Catholic Charities and emergency financial help

The social services from SW Ohio Catholic Charities offered are wide ranging and extensive. Referrals, information on medical care, government benefits, and much more is provided.

  • For example, case managers will assist individuals and families in finding a health care provider for themselves and their families.
  • Get referrals to community resources and public assistance such as WIC, Medicaid, food stamps, Medicare, etc. Many state of Ohio and federal government assistance programs help low income, unemployed, people with no income and struggling families. Locate churches that give out money.

Immigration and Legal services are coordinated in the community, including Montgomery and Hamilton County Ohio. This is mostly offered for Hispanics and asylum seekers. The programs will provide forums or workshops where volunteer Spanish speaking lawyers and attorneys answer questions from the community.

Catholic Charities works to help people settle in the Cincinnati area. The charity will provide workshops on issues such as "Taxes" and will also try to educate the Hispanic community on their legal rights. Or learn about Green Cards, work permits and other resources. The bottom line is the agency will assist individuals with addressing and solving legal issues, and this is done by volunteer lawyers.

Health care and education programs – Catholic Charities of Hamilton County provides workshops in health topics that have been identified as an issue in the community. Literacy Education Programs can help people gain skills, improve their knowledge, and gain other experiences that are critical to employment. Classes and workshops include GED classes in Spanish and English, ESL classes including beginning, intermediate and advanced English.

Computer classes are offered too, and include Microsoft office, web search, non-profit coding boot camps and electronic mail. TOFL preparation is an English exam that is required for non English speakers to attend college. The centers also coordinate tutoring programs and resources for school age kids.

Free work supplies from Catholic Charities are available. This is often part of the educational resources, job placement and other programs. They help people get free professional work clothes, phones or tablets, desks, and other items. There are even programs from the government that give out cell phones, and learn more on how to get a free iPhone government phone.

Employment programs are provided by Hamilton County Catholic Charities. This includes providing monthly or bimonthly job fairs, training to job seekers on how to write their resume, how to perform well in interviews, expectations they will have at any position, etc. They also work with businesses and employers in Cincinnati to help place clients.

 

 

 

 

The charity can provide consulting services to employers who have work related concerns with their seniors, unemployed or Hispanic employees. However a key service is assisting individuals with finding employment across Hamilton County and other areas of Ohio.
