Free clothing closets, furniture banks and school supplies in northern California.

Find clothing closets, furniture banks, and charities in northern California that provide free or low cost clothes to the low income as well as furniture for a new home or apartment. Clients at these charity organizations will often be given items such as free coats, shoes, backpacks for students, professional work attire, suits, uniforms, furniture, baby supplies or school supplies. There are also fee furniture banks in the area, including Santa Clara, Alameda, and San Francisco County. The organizations do what they can to meet the need. Many locations also offer other services, such as limited financial help or referrals.

The free clothing closets as well as furniture banks are widely disbursed in the region, and locations are in San Francisco, Santa Clara, Alameda County and other nearby counties. Most of the centers rely heavily on donations from the community, so if you have clothing items that are in good condition and you don’t want them, then drop them off.

In addition to new or gently used clothing, other common requests and needs which can be fulfilled include toys for children, diapers, furniture, back to school supplies, bookbags, and hygiene items.
