Free food pantries, groceries and soup kitchens in St. John County.

Free food banks and pantries are committed to helping low-income and struggling families across St. John County Florida. Services will vary by location and distribution center, but in general the locations are committed to providing free food, meals, holiday assistance, and boxes of groceries today to people across the community who need help. Find free food pantries in St. Johns County near you and St. Augustine FL.

A focus is on families with children, seniors, people with no money. and the homeless. Many of the food assistance programs, including free drive thru food banks open today, acquire groceries and food products through donations from the local community. All items are given away to the low-income in St. Johns County.

Donations come from canned food drives, direct purchase, or other food bank programs. The St. John pantries will then distribute these grocery boxes to people who are in an emergency or crisis situation. Some pantries may even be able to deliver free food and groceries to people whose illnesses or disabilities make it difficult for them to leave home, and this is the Meals on Wheels service. Other locations may offer meals around Thanksgiving and Christmas, or distribute hygiene items like toilet paper, soap, laundry detergent and other products.

Most of the food assistance programs provide boxes or bags of food on a first come, first serve basis for eligible people. Resources are usually offered at a designated date and a specified time, so call in advance. Note that some of these food banks may be located in nearby Duval County or Jacksonville. However they would still serve residents of St. Augustine and St. John County Florida. Or give referral to government benefits such as Access Florida/my access.
