The non-profit, faith based organizations, of which there are many, provide assistance across Fayette County. The centers are open for men and women who are homeless, facing imminent eviction or that are in recovery from drug and alcohol addictions. Those who stay in the centers will need to agree to program terms as well. For example, men and women living in the homes are required to work towards self-sufficiency and find employment. They offer budget and credit counseling, resource referral and case management as needed. In order to receive any cash assistance, clients will need to call the mission on the first Tuesday of the month. Proof of income, expenses, ID, and other support will be required. Case managers from the organization can help job-seekers find employment, help people navigate government programs such as SSDI, K-Tap, SNAP and Social Security and more.
