Fauquier, Culpeper, and Rappahannock County assistance programs.

Emergency financial aid

Culpeper Human Services focuses on very low income families in that county. They offer a few government and federal resources from the office on 1835 Industry Drive. Families can apply for fuel assistance, and this will help with both winter heating and summer cooling bills. Grants are issued for this cost. Or try Rappahannock County Social Services at 354 Gay Street.

Other programs include grants for rent to prevent an eviction, applications to food stamps and Medicaid, and SNAP food stamps. Social workers offer a wide range of services, and call (540)727-0372 in Culpeper or Rappahannock residents can dial (540)675-3313. The Fauquier Social Service office will offer many of these same benefits to very low income families and the elderly in their county too, and the number is (540)422-8400.

Piedmont United Way provides assistance with utility bills from Energy Share. Call (540)825-7615. This is available for Dominion customers. Applicants under the age of 60 need to have a disconnect notice, while those over that age limit do not need a shut off notice. Grants or payment plans will be offered to the elderly, sick, or families with children.

St John the Evangelist Catholic Church – Emergency programs can provide money for housing or rent expenses. There is also funding for utility or water bills, food and anything that constitutes an emergency. They are part of the local St Vincent De Paul Society. Salvation Army Fauquier County - Warrenton Service Unit – Programs include a thrift store and food pantry. As funding permits, they can also assist with rent, utility bills, and medications. They also offer free school supplies and Christmas meals/gifts.

Another innovate service for very low income families or seniors in Fauquier County is the pet food ministry. Or children also have service focused on their needs, including an off-site camp. Call (540)341-3396, or more on Fauquier County Salvation Army.

 

 

 

 

Salvation Army Front Royal provides social services as well. Many of them are the same as the center listed above. This location can be reached at (540)635-4020. The office offers crisis support in Page, and Rappahannock.

People Helping People Warrenton offers assistance to the very low income and elderly. The non-profit can offer gasoline vouchers to a job interview or doctor office. Other assistance will be funds for heating bills, rent, or prescription drugs. The number to call for information is (540)349-9017.

Culpeper, Culpeper Community Development Corporation and the SHARE Homeless Intervention Program coordinates eviction prevention and offers one time rent help. Case management is also offered to tenants, and legal aid can be used to help stop homelessness in the community. They can help with costs ranging from deposits to rent, and refer clients to section 8 vouchers too. The office is on 602 South Main Street. Fauquier Housing Corporation is at 67 West Lee Street , Warrenton, VA 20186. Works address budgeting and credit repair. Assistance include foreclosure counseling and the Regional Loan Fund program for buying a home. It covers Madison, Culpeper, Orange and Rappahannock. Call (540)341-2805.

Rappahannock County Health Department provides referrals to community clinics and medical care. They also offer free dental care from a mobile site. Call (540)675-3516 for an appointment.

 

 

 

 

Fauquier FISH – The faith based charity has many services from their Warrenton office. Call (540)347-3474. Grants may be issued for utility bills. Food, including Easter and Christmas Dinner Grocery Baskets are passed out as well as Book Bags and School Supplies. They also help facilitate loans for certain bills and rent as well.

Fauquier Free Clinic – Low cost or free health care, check ups, and more is arranged. Patients can get medications and physicals done. Other support may be immunizations, lab-work, and more. The center is at 210 West Shirley Avenue, Warrenton, or call (540)223-4008. There are many other clinics in Virginia as well, and read more Virginia medical care.

Information on food programs and pantries

St Stephens Episcopal Church – The charity has a free food pantry for low income clients. Groceries, hot meals, and Thanksgiving or Christmas meals are served too. 115 North East Street, Culpeper, VA, call (540)825-1177

Fauquier Community Food Bank and Thrift Store  - Call (540)359-6053 to reach the Warrenton center.

Community Touch food bank - 10499 Jericho Road , Bealeton, VA 22712. Call (540)439-9300 for emergency food. They also support children and the elderly in Culpeper, Rappahannock, and Fauquier.

Seven Loaves Services of Middleburg Virginia has USDA food and more for counties such as Rappahannock. Dial (540)687-3489.

Loaves & Fishes of Front Royal, Virginia. They have a food pantry and soup kitchen. (540)622-2479.

Operation First Response of Culpeper County only supports veterans and military members. Programs include vehicle payments and repairs, money for utilities, gasoline vouchers, rent and mortgage help, help applying for VA benefits, and transportation to a doctor. (888)289-0280.
