Short term housing and homeless shelter in Davidson County Tennessee and Nashville.

Get details on transitional housing programs, homeless shelters, and find support in finding a permanent home in the city of Nashville and all of Davidson County Tennessee. A number of non-profit organizations, churches and social service agencies can help tenants facing eviction and the currently homeless find the help they need in a difficult time.

The first objective of many of these agencies in on homeless prevention, so some locations may have referrals or information on emergency rental assistance. They also provide resources to people that have been evicted and that are currently homeless. Individuals or families can stay in a shelter for a short period of time, and they maybe enroll into a more longer term transitional housing program. Throughout this process, work with a case manager on finding a solution to your housing crisis. Locate a low income apartment or home in Davidson County, receive meals and basic needs, and attend case management or job training. Numerous services are available for those that are struggling and the homeless.

Low income, safe supportive housing is offered to the low income and families facing eviction. Other services offered include job placement assistance, life skills training, financial literacy classes, and housing location services. So a case manager can help an individual find a more permanent home in the county.

While there are a few centers in the county, this is the main one for a homeless shelter and transitional housing services. More long term shelter can be provided to homeless women and families. Those using the resources need to attend case management and create a plan for self-sufficiency and to increase your income. Housing assistance is also offered as part of the Salvation Army Kare for Kids program. Another program is known as Bootstraps for Men. The program known as Homeless No More offers transitional units and apartments, case management, and permanent housing. Other services include job training and dedicated transitional housing resources for veterans. They also partner with the Nashville area VA Hospital.
