Salvation Army assistance programs Davidson County North Carolina.

A church – charity in Davidson County that helps struggling families is the Salvation Army. They are a Christian Faith group, and everything from emergency rent or energy bill help to free school supplies for kids, shelter for the homeless, Christmas toys, and case management services (among other programs) may be offered. There is also a low cost Family – Thrift store on site.

Donations, the sale of goods (like clothes and furniture) at the thrift store, and volunteers help keep the Davidson County and Lexington Army operating. The money and works funds everything from the financial aid programs to general operations.

Financial assistance from Salvation Army

While the Salvation Army does try to help as many applicants and struggling families in Davidson County as possible, the fact is that funds are limited. Funding also comes and goes, and many applicants are unable to be assisted.

Lexington area income qualified residents, with proof of identification, documentation of income from all sources, information on all family members, etc. may apply. When possible, there can be the following forms of one time, emergency financial assistance.

  • -Funds to help pay rent or a mortgage. There is also homeless prevention and rehousing in North Carolina.
  • -Utility bill help, including for electric, water, or light.
  • -Some basic medical care, and the Salvation Army in Davidson County can offer free vouchers for medications, applications to discount cards or referrals to free community clinics.
  • -Work expenses including gas vouchers, car repairs, a ride to work, and more.
  • -Help recovering and responding to a disaster or assistance for alcohol and substance abusers.

Those tend to be the most commonly requested needs. When it comes to food or hunger prevention, the Davidson County Salvation Army helps there too. See below. But other critical, mostly life threatening bills or housing needs may be paid by the Salvation Army on a case by case basis, as funds allow.
