Davidson County food pantries.

Both food and personal hygiene needs can be met by Davidson County food banks and pantries. The locations focus on preventing hunger in the community. Staff will not only try to pass out a bag of groceries to the low income, but other support may be clothing, soap, Christmas meals, and other basic needs. Some even offer financial support or applications to SNAP food stamps or USDA meals for children.

A few of the local pantries are open by appointment only, and others have strict application processes in place. The food pantries, in particular those at churches in the Lexington area, also depend on volunteers as well as donations to keep them running. So anyone that can donate is encouraged to do so.
