Comal County assistance programs

There are several non-profit organizations and charities that people can turn to for help in Comal County Texas. Find information and your options below.

Memorial Assistance Ministries, or MAM
They offer a program known as the MAM Emergency Assistance Programs, which serve the Spring Branch area of the county and other areas and locations near northwest Houston. The program provides people with a variety of services and resources, including rent assistance to prevent homelessness, limited free and discounted medical and prescription assistance, utility bill help to avoid cut off or restore utility service.

In addition, MAM also works closely with Spring Branch ISD to provide uniforms for students going to school. They also provide eyeglasses. Recently, MAM has also expanded their Employment Services program to provide computer training and classes, job coaching with mock interviews, resume review and writing and other partnerships with area businesses. Last, but not least, the MAM Emergency Assistance Program also offers GED classes both during the day and evening English as a Second Language classes. Salvation Army - (830) 608-9129
This non-profit charity organization will offer services that will help meet the emergency needs of Comal County residents without discrimination. Assistance programs are provided to residents to help them with paying utility bills, rent and housing expenses, food, and disaster relief. This agency provides emergency food issues. People in need of help can sign up for monthly food allotments to families in need of assistance in New Braunfels, Texas.
 

Bulverde Food Pantry - (830) 438-7899
They offer several resources. They offer programs including rent assistance programs, food aid, and more. They respond to requests for assistance from people in the area who are acute and chronically needy persons. they provide aid in the form of clothing, food, and utility bill help.
