Free clothing closets, school supplies and furniture Collin County and Plano.

Numerous charities and churches in the Collin County provide free school supplies to students, clothes, household items like furniture and more. Most of the assistance is from clothing closets, furniture banks and thrift stores. The centers can provide basic needs and support to low income families, the jobless, children, and others. Find where to get free stuff, such as clothes, appliances, or furniture in Plano, McKinney, and the county below.

Clients may be given free clothes or furniture. Or low income families, single moms and the working poor can get many other free items. Some special programs give out birthday gifts, free back to school supplies, computers for work or school, and other household items too. The regional thrift stores and clothing centers rely on donations and volunteers from the community. Many local fund raisers occur. Also, contributions come from businesses and people in the Collin County community. If you can donate or volunteer, please do so. Some of what may be needed, and passed out to the low income, includes school supplies, gently used clothing such as shoes or school supplies, shoes, beds, kitchen appliances, diapers, furniture and personal hygiene goods. Some non-profits or churches may have some financial assistance as well for the poor and very low income.

The Storehouse of Collin County

May have limited amounts of used clothing and limited furniture to the needy, children, and seniors. They also offer free school items, including backpacks, notebooks, shoes, pens, and the like. Some Christmas goods may be provided too, including to single moms or dads.

 

 

 

Assistance League of Greater Collin County

Provides the low income and needy with basic needs. Emergency programs offer gently used furniture, household supplies, and other items such as clothing. Other supplies are given to immigrants and the elderly as well.

Frisco Family Services Center

Open limited hours. However it does provide supportive services and basic needs to individuals and families. The non-profit does also operate a clothing closet and food pantry. It will try to make free clothing, furniture and vouchers available to Collin County families in need.

Professional work attire or outfits for a job interview may be offered. Other services are numerous, including financial assistance, budgeting, classes, and job fining workshops. Special programs are offered from time to time such as the holiday gift program, back to school fairs, and the free Thanksgiving program. Provides the poor and struggling with clothing assistance, food, and even electric bill help.

Assistance Center of Collin County

Salvation Army Of Collin County

Provides residents of the county with gently used clothing, furniture for a home or apartment, free household items, rent help, and medications. Other season programs in Christmas clothes and gifts from the Angel Tree as well as backpacks and other free school supplies. Students can be given uniforms or notebooks too.

Community Lifeline Center

Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County

Most of the clothes and free personal stuff is for kids and/or pregnant or new moms. Get diapers, free maternity clothes, school supplies for kids from K-12, sneakers and more.

Metrocrest Social Services

Some of what is offered includes back to school supplies, work or school uniforms and shoes and holiday assistance. Other goods include vouchers for gasoline for a job interview. They also help pregnant mothers with free diapers, wipes, hygiene items, and maternity clothes too.

Allen Community Outreach

Unidos Plano - O.L.A. (Organization for Latin Americans)

They focus on Spanish-speaking residents in Collin County. The non-profit works to improve their quality of life, and that may mean free work or school clothes, desks for computers for learning / a job, counseling, and more. Get free sneakers, book bags, laptops, financial help and more.

Pilot Point Goodfellows

Collin County and Dallas Furniture Bank
They cover many areas in N Texas, including Collin County. Find free furniture, beds, mattresses, appliances and more.
