Central Florida transitional housing.

Every year thousands of local families face eviction or lose a home to foreclosure. Transitional housing programs in counties such as Lake and Marion Florida can help those individuals. Emergency shelters, case management, and other social services are available, including for the currently homeless.

Some non-profit agencies or programs focus on veterans, women, or single parents. However almost anyone in the central Florida region, that meets application conditions, can receive assistance from the agencies. Not only will people receive access to a low income housing unit, they will also be supported through job training programs, case management, life skills training, and financial literacy.

Agencies and resources are available throughout the region. The counties supported include the following. Residents of Alachua, Bradford, Citrus, Dixie, Gilchrist, Lafayette, Lake, Levy, Marion, Osceola, Pasco, Seminole, Sumter, and Union Counties can look into one or more of these transitional housing type programs.

This is the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Retirement Home. Individuals need to pay rent, however the units are affordable. However they will receive a room, meals, transportation to doctor appointments, telephone service, and other benefits with their room.
