Free food pantries in Cayuga County and Auburn.

Clients of the food pantries in Cayuga County include the working poor, senior citizens, unemployed, and families in a financial hardship. The type of assistance will be tailored to meet the applicant's need. This means a free box of groceries can be given today or holiday meals served at Christmas or Thanksgiving. Or if the request is for basic needs, such as clothes for work or a small Christmas toy, the Auburn area charities that operate these free food pantries near you will try to offer that as well.

The goal is to never turn a needy person away. Get free groceries, meals on wheels services or more. Also find a phone number at the bottom of the page for more resources. Note that the hours of each food bank is very limited as well as the resources, as they often rely on donations from Feeding America, the USDA, and other groups such as churches. But a number of hunger prevention services may be provided by these Cayuga County pantries.

They also help very low income families apply for public aid. The main benefits include SNAP food stamps as well as WIC vouchers or bag lunches from soup kitchens. But other, more targeted programs such as Meals on Wheels may be offered too in Cayuga County.
