Free holiday and Christmas assistance Burlington County.

Find where to get help during the holidays (Easter, Christmas or Thanksgiving). Several charity organizations are involved in passing out free toys or gifts to kids; feeding the hungry or low income; providing free Thanksgiving turkey dinners or holiday food boxes; and really offering various forms of assistance, with most resources offered at Christmas.

There are various programs offered, ranging from Angel Tree at the Salvation Army to Toys for Tots across Burlington County and also free Thanksgiving/Christmas meals served. Each program has its own unique application process in place. But in general, low income families with kids can be given free toys, games, gifts, and other Christmas presents.

The food boxes and meals are generally open to anyone in need. Whether the resident is homeless, working poor, or just in a financial crisis, free food, meals, groceries, and similar goods may be offered at Christmas. There are also holiday meal sites.

Two holiday programs are run. One is the Thanksgiving basket service, which gives turkeys, dinners, toppings and more. The second is a free Christmas gift service for kids, which may have toys, games, books, and more. The St. Josephs Church in Riverside NJ is a partner.

Three seasonal programs are run. They include free back to school supplies, holiday food baskets for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, and also a toy program. Note for the free Christmas toys, the child/student needs to be in school.

Needs residents/individuals can apply for help. There is a Christmas toy giveaway event, which gives out coats, food, groceries, and more. A holiday party is also open to the low to moderate income or anyone in need.

The Salvation Army Social Services and Holiday Programs
This is one of the nation’s (and Burlington counties) leaders when it comes to holiday assistance. There is everything from free Christmas toys from Angel Tree to gift cards, vouchers, certificates, and more. Other holiday programs range from the Red Kettle donation service to free Thanksgiving turkey dinners for the poor or homeless. Services include a free food pantry, soup kitchen, and Meals on Wheels service for the poor and low income. This charity may have holiday programs too, including small gifts, toys, and the like.

 

 

 

Burlington County New Jersey Toys for Tots is open for registration in the fall. As part of this service, lower income parents, immigrants, single moms, and struggling families (with kids) can be given free Christmas toys, games, gifts, and more.
