Free clothing closets, school supplies, furniture banks Bexar County and San Antonio.

Families that are struggling in Bexar County may be able to receive free or low cost clothes, back to school supplies for their kids, furniture, free stuff and other basic needs from a clothing closet or furniture bank. There are non-profits, charities or social service agencies in San Antonio and Bexar County Texas that provide free items.

The items distributed will vary by center, but can include shoes, coats, furniture for a home or apartment, diapers, school supplies and uniforms for children, beds, and maybe even some professional work attire. Items are distributed from a number of centers in San Antonio and the county.

Many of the clothing closets as well as furniture banks in the San Antonio area also partner with other organizations or programs, such as food pantries, churches, thrift stores, or other non-profits in Bexar County. This allows families the ability to access a number of programs and resources from this network of agencies. Some agencies may offer limited financial assistance for bills as well.

Some of the leading resources in the region are below. Items are limited and often rely on donations, and each center will have different conditions and application processes in place.
