Berkshire and Hampden County transitional housing.

When facing homelessness, or if you need to find a new home or apartment, then transitional housing programs and non-profits in the Hampden County and Berkshire region may be able to help. The programs can help both renters and the homeless address a number of other needs as well as address the issue that may be the root cause of their struggles.

Some of what the housing programs may offer include a free meal, job training, case management, and information on filing for government benefits. Social workers across Hampden and other counties are focused on helping low income and poor families.

If you do not qualify for a transitional housing resource, then shelters may be your best option. These will be very short term units in which a family can stay. More than likely the client will be able to move from one of these emergency shelters to a temporary housing unit. The bottom line is that residents have several options available to them.
