United Community Action Agency supports the low income and working poor residents of both Benton and Tippah Counties in Mississippi. This non-profit agency can assist the low income with paying their utility bills when funds are available, for those who qualify for aid. Specifically, they provide utility and cooling bill assistance for the elderly, low-income, and disabled. They have contracts with Region 3 & 4 in the region. They also provide food and groceries from the local Oak Hill - Briarcrest Food Bank. Catholic Social Services Sacred Heart supports several counties in the area. They provide information, counseling, advice, and limited financial help. In addition to a food pantry, The local Catholic Social services branches also offer rental and utility bill assistance, the government funded LIHEAP program, charities and referral services and transportation to medical facilities, including doctors appointments and medical facilities.
