Autauga County Alabama assistance programs.

Access free food, financial help for rent and other bills

Autauga Interfaith Care Center - This local church/religious facility, known as AICC for short, provides qualified individuals with a large number of assistance programs and resources, including free food, gently used or new clothing, and from time to time they may even have limited financial assistance and/or cash grants for bills and expenses. They can provide a limited amount of financial aid to people and families who are in need due to situations such as a major health care issue, unexpected unemployment, serious injury or illness, and fire.  The money can go towards paying utility and cooling bills and other expenses. The location is in Prattville and can be reached at (334) 365-4080.

The local community action agency is the Elmore-Autauga Community Action Committee. Program focus on the low income, help people get tout of poverty, and aid is available for the working poor. Services provided to the low income and elderly of Autauga and Elmore counties include help for paying energy bills, such as access to government LIHEAP as well as state of Alabama Project Share programs, access to a free  food pantry for emergency food assistance, weatherization assistance, and information on rental assistance programs and services. Community Action Agency - Central Alabama supports the poor and low income in Autauga County. A number of assistance programs and resources are available. They offer small monetary assistance in certain situations to pay bills, rent, and for other emergencies. Other resources include Head Start child development. This can also offer children from low income families with meals, basic health care, and more. Their parents may register for social services such as job counseling. The non-profit agency can also provide referrals to government programs such as food stamps or LIHEAP energy bill assistance. The goal is to help families regain self-sufficiency. Community clinic in Elmore and Autauga Alabama

Receive access to affordable health and dental care from Health Services, Inc. (334) 365-4524. This medical and dental center serves the low income and uninsured and others by acting as a medical home/community clinic. The center offers the following forms of assistance, including primary health care, preventive health services, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.

Specifically services offered by the Health Services Clinic include medications, medical, dentistry, pharmacy, government insurance, and social services. Specialized services include pediatrics, family medicine, WIC, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology (except for Lister Hill Health Center location), and family planning services. In addition, Medicaid and Medicare eligibility services are also available on site.
