These distribution centers, churches and charity organizations will provide free food, groceries, personal toiletries and other forms on support to people who are facing a hardship. Regional free food distribution centers in AL

In addition to the local food banks near you above, there are more regional charities that help feed the homeless, low income, and working poor in Alabama. They giveaway groceries, serve meals, or help people apply for benefits from the government, including USDA commodities, SNAP food stamps and even hot meals from a restaurant. Community Food Bank of Central Alabama is a Feeding America organizations that works to end hunger in 12 counties, including Bibb, Blount, Chilton, Jefferson, St. Clair, Shelby, and Walker. The main address is 107 Walter Davis Drive, Birmingham, Alabama 35209. This organizations partners with churches, pantries, and charities across Alabama.

  • The non-profit will provide low income and working poor families information on government assistance such as SNAP food stamps and WIC. There are also free groceries giving out including rice, pasta, produce and more. Or get summer meals or free pet food. Heart of Alabama Food Bank address is 521 Trade Center Street, Montgomery, AL 36108-2107. The Feeding America partner is one of the leading pantries in Alabama. The center partners with churches, non-profits, and other organizations in order to serve the needy. Free food, vegetable, and government commodities are offered.

  • The counties covered include Autauga, Bullock, Butler, Chilton, Coosa, Crenshaw, Elmore, as well as Lowndes. There are also food banks and charities in Macon, Montgomery, Pike and Tallapoosa that are partners. They offer programs such as free cooking classes, shopping courses, Children Nutrition services and  Commodity Supplemental Food Program. .Main number: 334-263-3784

Food Bank of North Alabama is based at 225 Finney Rd SW, Huntsville, AL 35824. Call (256) 539-2256. Partners with local soup kitchens and pantries. Thousands of low income families receive canned goods, rice, baby formula, and other food items from this center and its partner organizations. The region covered includes Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lawrence, Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan County. Feeding the Gulf Coast - Bay Area Food Bank is for low-income families, single mothers and others in the counties of Bay, Escambia, Holmes, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton, Washington, George, Greene, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River, Perry, and Stone.   • The exact type of food distributed depends on what has been donated. The goods provided by the non-profit to qualified Alabama families may change throughout the year. There is a mobile pantry, Health and Nutrition workshops, SNAP outreach and more.

Community Market Of East Alabama

Feeding the Valley Food Bank also provides help to parts of Alabama, including Calhoun, Chattahoochee, Clay, Dougherty, Harris, Lee, Marion, Meriwether, Muscogee, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Talbot, Terrell, Troup, and Webster.
