Emergency Rental Assistance - Where can I get it?

My family is in need of help with our back rent. We have a special needs son and in June 2016, I had emergency brain surgery due to a severe infection. At the time, I had no health insurance. However, due to the circumstances of and from my surgery, my husband added me to his health insurance policy through work.
Normally, we pay our rent from my husband’s overtime. But since adding me to the insurance policy all of his overtime has gone to cover the insurance (health) premiums. I am unable to work because of the effects the surgery and infection had on my brain. I am working with my doctors to be placed on disability which will cover any future medical expenses on my behalf. But until it is approved and goes through we need assistance in catching up on our rent. We have nowhere to go and w/ a handicapped son who depends in a wheelchair for his mobility our options are limited.
We have just hit a hardship that, with a little time and assistance, we can work our way though and be able to get back on track and handle our bills on our own.
Please, I don't know where else to turn and I am fearful of the stress and physical difficulties this is placing on my husband. He is working so hard to make ends meet and I am worried about the demands he is placing on himself.
We haven't reached out for assistance before, and I am truly sad to have to ask now. But we cannot get caught up on our own this time and we desperately need any help we can get. I am so sorry to have to ask, but if there is a way you can help, we will do everything we can to reimburse any assistance we receive. It may take some time, but we would put forth every effort and spare cent in appreciation for any attention and assistance we receive.

Hello there, my name is Stephanie. I’m not sure how to go about this but my fiancé and I finally locked down our first ever apartment together after being homeless on the streets in Keene. With our rent is $950 but my job has been cutting my hours and with that I’m not able to afford my half of the rent which is $475. My fiancé and I are struggling yet again and we could really use the assistance ASAP and it would be much appreciated. Good morning. I am just wondering why do you have to have an eviction notice before you can get any emergency assistance for the rent. I am not behind yet, but it has been a struggle to come up with the money to pay my rent. It's only by the grace of God that I have been able to pay my rent this far. I am trying to avoid getting an eviction notice, but I am still in need of help. I just wish there was a program for people like me. I am trying to come up with the money for August rent. I have only been able to get $440.00 so far. My rent is $1143 a month. My husband lost his income and is waiting for his disability to be approved and you know how social security is. By all rights he could kick me out now because I have owed him a couple of hundred for a few months now and it seems impossible to get caught back up. The last
2 1/2 years have been difficult for me financially. I seem to go from one situation to the next spending money that I can't afford to spend but emergency situations happen. I live on approximately $400 a month after all my bills are paid or other debts, like a friend of mine has helped me a lot. But when I need to borrow money from him, I need to pay it back when I get paid and I seem to always be swimming against the current.
This month I can't pay my rent, car insurance nor can I pay a few other bills that I normally pay.
If a company or organization would help me, I would pay back an agreeable amount back to them each month to pay the loan or front of. I have lived in my apartment since May 2002. I have numerous medical problems and I wouldn't make it thru one night on the streets. I have been calling places and they usually send me to some other place and it has been two weeks of rejection and it is overwhelming for me.
I don't know who I could call for immediate assistance.

My family and I were given a 72 hour eviction notice as well as the three apartments next door. We still don't understand why but are currently homeless and have 2 kids in school. We are looking immediately for small inexpensive apartments but all require a heavy deposit or much rent up fromt. So apply for some of the Marion County programs that may help with housing and/or rent needs. There are plenty of agencies in the community to try for assistance. Also, if your ex-boyfriend abused you, then try a DV program too. As that may be an option for you. Lost my job of all but 11 years about 3 months ago since then everything has just gone wrong my electric has been shut off and I'm behind in my rent. I've tried to call numerous place and no immediate luck.
My landlord is talking about turning the water off so the pipe's don't freeze cause I have not been able to get the electric back on. Well there are some agencies in Jefferson County that may be able to help you with housing. As based on your message, it sounds like you are trying to help yourself, have done all you can, have initiative, etc. So you just need a little assistance to push you over the hurdle. So try these emergency rent assistance programs in Birmingham, and maybe they can support you on your journey.

Did you landlord give you notice on time? As they can't just request $500 for rent without formal level notice of the eviction, and this is per Riverside County regulations. Also, some charities do run transitional housing for victims of domestic violence, so look into those programs too. Also, find a listing of rental assistance in Riverside County.

I need help with rent and job search. I lost job in May and I have very hard time to find one. I was not able pay rent for one and half month and I would not able to pay for October. My landlord told me if I don't give him $500 by tomorrow I need to move out on Thursday. I have no place to go. I'm a single mom with daughter. I'm not getting any child support because I'm survivor of domestic violence and my ex was deported so he doesn't pay child support. I'm hopeless and I need help, please. Thank you.
