When a family needs emergency food or a voucher, the best place to turn to for help in Marathon County is a free food pantry near them. Both charities as well as non-profits focus on providing support to certain areas of the county. Find how and where to get free groceries, hot meals, and locate charities that give away food below. In addition, many sites have free baskets of goods to those in need for Thanksgiving, Christmas or even Easter. Also find a referral number at the bottom of the page for more resources.

Generally, a pantry or soup kitchen can only be used a few times per year. However there may be exceptions made in an emergency. When the applicant is a senior citizen or disabled, then a distribution center may deliver the food or meal to the home of the individual or family in need.
