East Missouri Action Agency, Inc.
This is the community action agency for Farmington and St. Francois County Missouri.
Housing Rehabilitation program - Repairs and updates are made to low income and elderly households.
Housing assistance program - This service provides rental assistance through the Section 8 Rental Voucher program, which is funded by the federal government.
Weatherization Program - This service provides energy conservation measures and improvements for homes that are occupied by the elderly, the disabled and families with small children, and low income, all of which are income qualified per program criteria.
Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) - Receive grant money to help pay heating and utility bills. Money can pay a recurring monthly pay as well as provide help in a crisis situation.
Free food - Food supplement and groceries can be distributed to low income families.
Employment and help finding a job - The agency also has programs for individuals who have lost their employment through no fault of their own. In addition aid can be provided for both youth and adults in search of employment or a new job. Counselors can provide individual assessment of worker's education, experience and skills to use in developing an individual employment plan to assist the person in reentering the workforce. Assistance is available for classroom training and on-the-job training to qualified individuals.
Referrals - Learn about other assistance programs in Easter Missouri and St. Francois area. Staff from EMAA can help clients apply for SNAP food stamps, direct them to pantries, low income housing, or other government grant programs.
